Native Language
Anadilim.u-id.org Platform
As the Union of International Democrats (UID), we support the goals of equal opportunities in education, the preservation of the mother tongue, and the maintenance of cultural identities for Turkish people living abroad. The “My Mother Tongue” platform serves as a digital space where we share our projects aimed at strengthening the connection of our children and families with their mother tongue.
Our Mother Language is Our Identity!
Turkish Language and Education Supports
The “My Mother Tongue” platform has been developed with the aim of enabling our children and young people living abroad to gain proficiency in their mother tongue, contribute to their social, cultural, and intellectual development, strengthen their ties with Turkey, and become successful individuals in the countries they live in.
With the migration process that began in the 1960s, learning both the mother tongue and the language of the host country became a priority for our citizens living abroad. In this context, both the preservation of the Turkish language and the development of individuals who are proficient in the language of the host country have become important goals.
As UID, we run various projects and support programs to ensure that the new generation of children benefits from quality educational opportunities, develops in their mother tongue, and becomes competitive individuals academically. The “My Mother Tongue” platform has been designed as an important digital education and awareness hub in this regard.
Objective: These workshops, where our children will have fun while speaking Turkish, aim to expose them to their mother tongue more, strengthen their cultural ties, and support the development of their bilingual skills.
These workshops, which will be conducted entirely on a voluntary basis and free of charge, will be organized according to the number of applicants and carried out either one-on-one or in small groups.

Our Language, Our Identity
Our mother tongue is one of the strongest carriers of our cultural identity and societal belonging. As the Union of International Democrats (UID), with our mission of preserving Turkish and passing it on to future generations, the “Anadilim” platform represents an important step in this field.
With projects like the “Türkçemiz Kimliğimiz Atölyeleri” (Our Turkish is Our Identity Workshops) and the “Dilağacı Platformu” (Language Tree Platform), we aim for our children and youth to internalize Turkish not just as a communication tool but as a cultural heritage. These projects allow Turkish to be learned in a fun and effective way, while also strengthening our cultural bonds.
The support of our families is crucial for the preservation of our mother tongue. Speaking Turkish at home, encouraging this language in social environments, and creating settings that enhance our children’s attachment to Turkish will contribute to strengthening their sense of identity and belonging. We believe that the “Anadilim” platform will make a difference in this regard, and I invite all of our users to contribute to this project.
We will continue working together to ensure that Turkish remains a strong presence across generations.
